James is an architectural historian who lives in Rye New Hampshire with his family and assorted farm animals.  He is interested in old buildings, structures, and landscapes and how they fit into our cultural narrative.

“When a building or landscape is endangered, it is up to us to determine if a building tells an important part of our story. If it does, either on its own, or in
context to its neighbors- then someone must speak up for it. Because buildings are not just utilitarian places where we live and work, they embody the stories, intentions, and voices of our past. If we listen to them, they can guide us into the future.”
