Reading Your Neighborhood Scavenger Hunt 

Download your Bingo Card.
Appreciate the beauty of the buildings around you by participating in our "Reading Our Neighborhoods" Scavenger Hunt. 

Submit pictures of all 15 house styles on the Bingo card to earn awards.

Bingo Award, HSI Members: Free admission to HSI Walking Tours for a year and a 75th Anniversary book. 
Bingo Award, Non-HSI Members: Discounted HSI membership and a 75th Anniversary book.

Please use the tag #HSIHouseBingo on social media but you must submit photos to [email protected] to be eligible for the prize.


Eligibility
Open to anyone, worldwide - photos of Salem are preferred - BUT not required. 
Every complete bingo card photo submitted between Friday September 16 and Friday September 31, 2022 will be eligible for awards.  Photos tagged on social media may be reshared in @historicsaleminc Instagram stories. Entries must be in .jpg, .png, or .heic format.  Entries may be emailed directly or uploaded in a shared file (Drive or Dropbox) with a link shared to [email protected].

Photo Contest September 18th to 27th, 2020


​The best photos from each of the styles on the Bingo card with be selected for exhibition.  You may submit individual photos to [email protected]
​

Photo Contest Prize: If your photo is selected you will receive a mini house plaque ornament and a 75th anniversary book signed by Jim McAllister, photo credit in the updated style guide, and entry into a drawing for the Grand Prize.
Grand Prize: A free house history and full size plaque for your house. If you already have one, we’ll refresh it. Or you can gift it.


Photo and Contest Notes:
Photos should be of the entire house, when possible. Photos of stylistic details; door hoods, brackets, bay windows, window patterns are always welcome. All photos will be uploaded to a community sourced gallery page on the HSI website and HSI will review and select the best submitted photo for each architectural style to be included in the updated HSI Homeowners Handbook, a guide for residents. 

Eligibility
Open to any resident in Essex County, photos must be of buildings currently within Salem's city boundaries.
Photos can be submitted individually or as part of the Scavenger Hunt Bingo. Entries must be in .jpg, .png, or .heic format. Entries may be emailed directly or uploaded in a shared file (Drive or Dropbox) with a link shared to [email protected].
