27th Annual

A walking tour of historic homes to benefit Historic Salem, Inc.

Saturday, December 2, 2006 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday, December 3, 2006 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The 27th annual Christmas in Salem house tour will feature The Heart of Historic Salem ~ Unique Urban Landscapes. The tour will showcase thirteen artistically decorated properties, including elegant 19th century mansions, homes once used as carriage houses, and cutting edge condominiums demonstrating creative reuse of urban buildings of another era. Several of the locations will feature live holiday music. The walk, extending from Salem Common to the McIntire District, has something for everyone as it winds through the city’s downtown, with its eclectic shops and restaurants. The hub of the tour will be Salem’s 1816 Old Town Hall, where visitors will be welcomed to a Holiday Boutique featuring offerings of some of the area’s finest merchants, as well as seasonal greens fashioned by the Salem Garden Club.
